Did you know that your neck and your back are the most common body parts to be injured in an auto accident or on the job? Unfortunately some pass up immediate treatment if they think the injury is minor.
Today we are going to discuss minor injuries that under the surface aren’t so minor.
First, know what to look for. Know the danger signs. The effects of trauma to the musculoskeletal system takes time to show up. For example any discomfort while you walk or sit, any pain while you bend at the waist, any stiffness in your neck or shoulders.
For your own protection both legally and physically, seek out a doctor’s opinion immediately. Keep a chiropractor’s emergency on call number handy at all times. Over 70% of accidents occur on the weekend. Have some help getting in and out of your car to go see your chiropractor. Live on the first floor of your home so you don’t have to go up and down stairs. Don’t sit on soft furniture, it’s always a little harder to get in and out of so don’t risk it. Apply ice to the painful areas it will reduce inflammation and feel good too.
As we wrap up today I want to remind you about those danger signs. This is what you should look for.
